Here are some grim bone faces that I found hanging around in Half Moon Bay in the garden section of the antique store. They are fashionable with their red ribbon trim. This is one of my favorite color schemes: Black, White and Red. Rock and roll colors, oh yeah! Happy Halloween everyone!
I think sushi makes a very elegant lunch. I always feel good after I eat some delicious rolls. Hana's Japanese Restaurant in Rohnert Park, CA has really fresh ingredients. It was very tasty last week when we rolled in for a quick lunch. The service was nice and the sushi chef was very friendly. HOG members will feel totally welcome too! Thanks to my good friend and neighbor for the recommendation.
Hurry now! Help join the fight against breast cancer by picking up this CD at Starbucks. There is a great mix of artists on this CD. Some of my favorites include The Fray, Death Cab for Cutie and KT Tunstall. There is a fun rendition of Paolo Nutini's song "New Shoes" that will make you smile. And KB thinks the CD art and cover design is well done with a touch of elegance. Here's one of the songs as my heart goes out to my Southern California people. More info on the local San Francisco radio station - Alice 97.3
I really admire the elegant lines in Iker Ayestaran's work. I came across this entry in the Drawn! blog. A fun blog for illustrators, artists, cartoonists and designers. KB recommends browsing around in this Blog. And take a browse through Iker Ayestaran's site for more of his work.
Here's an unexpected mosaic in the sidewalk. I saw this on Main Street in HMB near an antique shop. I love the color of old brick that frames this sunflower design. If you look close you can see the flower in the flower. It is created from pieces of pottery and china. This is an excellent example of recycled materials and piecing. This photo gives me a bit of inspiration for scrap booking, card making and quilting! Sometimes the best designs are in the most unexpected places.
Thanks to my good friend for loaning me this book! It was amusing, heart wrenching and beautifully written. The story takes place in 19 century China. It's about a woman's life and her relationships during the foot binding era. This is a story about motherhood, true love and friendship. I recommend this book!
Just like Jenny at All Sorts, I too am excited about getting a new refrigerator. After all, the kitchen remodel has been almost done for 3? years? I lost track. It isn't complete without the new fridge. The old fridge was the freezer on top kind which drove my very tall husband crazy. He always had to crouch down to get stuff out. So we definitely wanted the freezer on bottom style- which is called French Door style. Being into fashion, I pretty much go for all things French. I have to say that with refrigerators size does matter. In fact, the day after Mark picked out the first LG French Door refrigerator he had to go back and switch models because a key measurement was the depth of the refrigerator. We actually ended up with a smaller one, the LG Panorama 20.5 cubic ft, and the smaller one costs more! Looks good though, doesn't it? So,I don't think it's weird to get excited over appliances. I got excited about my iron earlier in my blog. I feel fortunate to be able to have nice tools. You should enjoy them, everyday.
